Twin Sails Bridge

The lifting timetable for Twin Sails is available on the Bridge lifting times page.

The Twin Sails Bridge is at the heart of Poole's plans for the future and has unlocked one of the largest regeneration sites in the South West.

The bridge provides critical infrastructure for 26 hectares of brownfield land which over the next 10 to 15 years is expected to deliver around 2,000 homes and create up to 5,000 jobs.

The Twin Sails Bridge is the first lifting bridge of its type and symbolises the aspirations of the town.

When the bridge is lifted, it resembles the sails of a yacht, reflecting Poole's rich maritime heritage and presenting a unique and dramatic architectural feature.

In its lowered position, the bridge offers views across the natural beauty of Holes Bay.
