We know there are significant opportunities to transform Poole town centre and that is why we are reconsidering plans that we had in place. We are working on producing a fresh approach which will now consider a much wider area for regeneration and also includes exciting new opportunities.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to deliver a transformative sustainable regeneration programme for the entire centre of Poole.
We want Poole town centre to be a place where people can live and work in a healthy and vibrant environment, and where business can thrive sustainably.
The delivery of a new town centre wide masterplan is intended to:
- achieve a transformational impact
- create a people focused environment where people want to live
- improve connectivity and promote sustainable transport options
- secure economic benefits
- act as a catalyst for wider private sector investment
- celebrate and enhance Poole’s heritage
- promote Poole as a cultural and visitor destination
We continue to work on attracting external Government Grant funding to support delivery of regeneration in Poole. As a result, we are rapidly progressing plans around a Heritage Action Zone programme, a National Lottery Heritage fund programme for Poole Museum and a Future High Streets Fund bid.
The new regeneration programme for Poole town centre will attract new people and investment to the area; positioning it well for the future. Please contact us on regeneration@bcpcouncil.gov.uk if you would like further information on the opportunities.
