Poole Site Specific Allocations and Development Management Policies Development Plan Document was adopted in April 2012. It builds on the strategic needs set out in the Core Strategy, by identifying where and how future development requirements for the town will be delivered. It also includes a suite of Development Management policies, that replace the majority of 'saved' policies in the Poole Local Plan First Alteration.

Issues and Options Consultation
The Issues and Options Consultation ran from 30 July to 10 September 2007 and the responses received informed the next stage of the consultation process.
The Continued Consultation ran from 30 September to 30 November 2008 and the responses received informed the Preferred Options for Sites Consultation document.
Preferred Options for Sites Consultation
The Preferred Options for Sites Consultation ran from 25 August to 6 October 2009 and the responses received informed the Pre-Submission Consultation document.
The Pre-Submission consultation ran from 4 April to 27 May 2011 and the responses received informed the Submission Document.
The Submission document was submitted to the Secretary of State on 2 August 2011 with a Public Examination heard on 15 and 16 November 2011 followed by the Inspector's Report on 30 January 2012.
At the Council meeting held on 24 April 2012, we formally resolved to adopt the Poole Site Specific Allocations and Development Management Policies DPD accompanied by a Sustainability Appraisal. Given the size of the appraisal we are also making it available to download in a number of sections:
