Trinidad Village, Poole's new extra care housing scheme, just off Rossmore Road, is well on the way to completion and Poole residents can now register their interest in living in this fantastic new development.
The scheme, a £10 million project jointly funded by Borough of Poole and the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), comprises 54 one and two bedroom flats and brings together the high level care services offered in residential care with the accommodation and independence of living in your own home. When completed in the Autumn, the Poole Housing Partnership-managed scheme will help reduce reliance on residential care and offer accommodation choices to people with disabilities and adults with care needs. It will also be a resource for the wider community, with a café, community spaces and a hair salon open to all.
Cllr Janet Walton, Leader of the Council, Borough of Poole, said: "I was really impressed by the progress made on this development during my recent visit to the site. The flats are a really good size and I particularly liked the central courtyard which really gave a sense of community to Trinidad Village.
Bruce Voss, HCA Area Manager, said: " The Homes and Communities Agency is pleased to have been able to help fund the Trinidad Village scheme through our affordable homes programme. This scheme is well designed and will provide really good quality affordable housing for Poole residents."
