Are you interested in standing for election to become a councillor for the upcoming BCP Council elections?
A Prospective Candidate event is being held on March 7 from 5-7pm at Bournemouth Town Hall for anyone interested in being an elected representative for their community.
Residents across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole conurbation are invited to attend to find out more about the election process and what the work of a councillor involves.
The session will cover things such as:
- Whether you can stand as a candidate
- Completing nomination papers
- Obtaining nomination packs
- Booking appointments for checks of nomination papers
- Campaigning and spending
- Information about polling day and the count
- Role of the Councillor
The local elections are being held on May 2 for the new BCP Council.
A total of 76 councillors representing 33 wards will be elected for BCP Council with a further number of councillors also being elected for four parishes within Christchurch.
