Godfrey’s a happy dog

His local pet shop, Marshalls Pet Store, has signed up for Small Business Saturday on 2 December 2017. Have you?

Independent businesses across Poole are preparing to celebrate ‘Small Business Saturday’ on 2 December 2017 with offers and deals to encourage people to support their local small shops and brands.

Godfrey, the dog, is a happy hound, as his local shop Marshall’s Pet Food Store in Ashley Cross, Poole has pledged to take part.

Emma Marshall, Owner of Marshalls Pet Food Store said: “We are celebrating our sixth year in business here in Ashley Cross. Small Business Saturday is a great platform for a small business such as ours to raise their profile and boost footfall in the lead up to Christmas.”

Borough of Poole together with Poole BID (Poole Business Improvement District) are delighted to support Small Business Saturday, helping boost the local economy with a campaign to encourage people to shop locally on the day and all year round.

Cllr Janet Walton, Leader of the Council, Borough of Poole, said: "We are keen to support our small business sector on this important day in the shopping calendar. It is a great opportunity for small organisations and local retailers to showcase their business as well as provide shoppers with fun activities and great deals.”

Julian McLaughlin, Head of Growth and Infrastructure, Borough of Poole, said: “Small shops and independent businesses are the heartbeat of our local economy and community. We are thrilled to support them and enable them to thrive across our high streets and shopping parades. It’s an opportunity for them to promote their businesses and to put them on the map by encouraging people to buy local!”

If you run a small business in the Poole area - shop, café, pub or other business and you want to promote your business to shoppers and customers now is the time to sign up!
