Borough of Poole is prepared for any snow and ice over the coming months.
The council has been testing its resilience over the last few months, ensuring it can effectively respond to any challenges that the winter weather may bring.
The council has:
- provided staff with refresher training for dealing with adverse weather
- tested the effectiveness of gritting Poole's roads, as the council's six gritters have been out testing the precautionary routes
- prepared the priority sites for manual gritting
- ensured staff are trained in road weather forecasting
Poole's gritters are on standby 24 hours a day, ready to treat roads in case of ice and snow. The gritters treat up to 120 miles of priority roads in Poole as and when necessary.
