Make a difference, fund the future
Each week over 14,000 people visit Poole Libraries, seeking a book, a job, access to the internet or attending one of our many events.
Libraries make a real difference to people’s lives – be part of the success and make your mark.
Here are some of the ways you can do that.
Options range from a gift of £10 to £250 but other special packages are available – please contact us for more information.
Sponsor your local library weekly Rhymetime
For children under 5 to give them a head start before they start school. Complete with songs to sing, stories to listen to and nursery rhymes to enjoy. It is also a great socialiser for new parents.
£10 pays for one Rhymetime session in your local library.
£50 pays for a package of 5 over the school holidays.
Pay for a volunteer’s mileage to deliver our Home Library Service
We have a wonderful group of volunteers who regularly deliver books and other items to customers who, for whatever reason, cannot get out to their library. The service is often described as ‘a lifeline’ and our volunteers quite rightly can and do claim for their mileage. Just £100 will help pay for a volunteer’s mileage to deliver the Home Library Service for a year.
Give a future – be a lifeline
We run Job Clubs in two of our libraries to offer practical support to those seeking work. These sessions help jobseekers with the unfamiliar process of applying online, brushing up skills such as CV writing and interview techniques. For just £10 an hour you can provide a lifeline to a job seeker in Poole.
Fund an event
We provide a range of events in all of our libraries – support our Reader Development Programme - £250 will fund one author visit.
To find out about sponsorship opportunities please email libraries@poole.gov.uk.
