Arts, children and young people

If you are aged 0-19 and keen to get creative, you can take part in the arts in Poole through our arts and music education programmes from Wave and Soundstorm; find out about arts news and events through Spark Dorset; or take part in PowerPlay, our Youth Music powered project based at Bourne Valley Youth Centre and the Henry Brown Centre.

Wave is the arts education agency for Bournemouth and Poole and Soundstorm develops innovative, exciting and diverse musical opportunities for young people and the wider community.

Wave also facilitate the Cultural Hub programme - a consortium of schools and arts/cultural organisations working together to jointly plan and deliver high quality cultural and creative learning opportunities for children and young people in Bournemouth and Poole.

We deliver and support high-quality arts and cultural experiences and opportunities in order to increase the confidence, aspirations, skills, and wellbeing of all children and young people, aged 0-19+. We also deliver the Arts Award – a national accredited qualification for young people aged 11-25 to develop as artists and arts leaders.

We also run family arts events throughout the year in the community, and new young writer projects will be announced soon.

You can contact the Arts in the Community Officer by email (arts@poole.gov.uk) for more details or follow us on Twitter.
