Overview - what is an apprenticeship
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study.
As an apprentice you’ll:
- work alongside experienced staff
- gain job-specific skills
- earn a wage and get holiday pay
- study towards a related qualification (up to one day per week)
- gain transferable employment skills
Apprenticeships are for a minimum of one year.
During that time you will be fully supported by your manager who will make sure that you progress in your academic studies and develop the skills needed for your job and for the future.
