This 4 day course enables social care staff to develop their skills and knowledge and to gain an understanding of their professional role and responsibilities.
This course can also be attended as a refresher for existing staff.
By the end of these sessions, participants will have gained the basic knowledge of the following standards:

- working in a person centred way
- privacy and dignity
- fluids and nutrition
- awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability
- safeguarding adults

- basic life support
- health and safety (2 day Moving and Handling of People Induction course is also available)

- infection prevention and control
