Complaints
When you make a complaint we start by checking it relates to a work activity where we are responsible for enforcing the health and safety legislation.
We may ask the employer to investigate your complaint or we may look into it ourselves. However, it may not be possible for us to look into your complaint if we're not able to identify who is responsible for the work you’ve complained about from the information you provided.
If you want feedback, we'll contact you to let you know the outcome of our investigation.
Accidents at work
We follow the Incident Selection Criteria to help us determine which incidents to investigate.
Employers, the self employed and people in control of work premises must report certain accidents occurring at work to the Health and Safety Executive. This is a legal requirement of the Reporting of Injuries Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995.
