Bins can only be delivered and cannot be collected from our storage area.
Although we will always attempt to issue new wheeled bins, it may be appropriate to utilise re-conditioned bins.
Individual properties and properties with 2 apartments would be issued with individual bins (180 litre and 240 litre), but buildings containing 3 apartments and upwards would normally be issued with communal wheeled bins (660 litre and 1100 litre), and the number of black and blue bins required is stated in our Waste Collection Authority Guidance on New Development.
If a developer/builder purchases the required bins it will be their own responsibility to recover the charge from eventual property owners if they so wish.
The current charges are:
- small black bin - 180 litre = £45
- large blue bin - 240 litre = £55
- 660 litre black or blue bin £150
- 1100 litre black or blue bin £180
VAT is not applicable and therefore not charged.
The charge is made for the supply of the bin only, and the bin will remain the property of BCP Council at all times and should not be removed from the premises under any circumstances. Effectively the council is providing the bin on a long term loan arrangement.
Payment must be made when bins are requested and bins will not be supplied and delivered prior to receipt of payment. Payment can be made by credit card or debit card. No cheques will be accepted and although invoices can be raised they would need to be paid before new bins will be issued.
All payments for new bins will be administered and receipted by the Waste Management section in Environmental Services, based at Unit 1 New Fields Business Park, Stinsford Road, Poole, BH17 0NF. Please phone our customer services department on 01202 261700.
