Council Tax relief for working-age residents during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis

Coronavirus (COVID-19): change to service

On advice from the government regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we are able to offer some extra assistance to those who most need it.

See further information about changes to services.

The Government recently awarded BCP Council with £3.1M to provide Council Tax Relief, alongside the existing local council tax support scheme, to all recipients of working age local Council Tax Support during the financial year 2020-21.

This funding will be used to apply a further reduction in working age council tax support recipients council tax bills of up to £150.

There is no need to make a separate claim for this hardship fund reduction. We will work as quickly as possible to assess who is eligible for support from this fund, apply the reduction to those accounts and issue a new bill.

There is no need to contact us to apply for this additional support.

Any remaining hardship funds will then be used to help those most in need, through our discretionary discount policy
