Marriage and civil partnership fees

Find out about fees for giving notice, hiring a venue and registrar's attendance.

Giving notice of marriage or civil partnership

Giving notice of marriage or civil partnership costs £35.

You must pay at the time of your appointment.

You can pay by:

  • cash
  • cheque
  • credit or debit card.

Ceremony fees

Ceremony fees include:

  • a non-refundable deposit
  • the registrar's attendance
  • one certificate.

Fees do not include venue hire for approved venues; please speak to the venue about costs.

Cost of ceremony in the Guildhall (holds up to 120 people):

  • Monday to Thursday: £278
  • Friday: £388
  • Saturday: £499.

Cost of ceremony in the Robing Room (holds up to 14 people):

  • Monday to Thursday: £106
  • Friday: £160
  • Saturday (at 10am and 11am only): £160.

Cost of ceremony in approved Poole venues:

  • Monday to Friday: £430
  • Saturday: £463
  • Sunday or bank holiday: £510.

Fees do not include venue hire for approved venues; please speak to the venue about costs.

Cost of ceremony in Poole register office:

  • Wednesdays 9am only: £50.
